HOW TO RUN FOR COMMITTEEPERSON IN PHILADELPHIA
OK, it’s 2018. This is game time. If you’re looking for the single best way to have a direct role in influencing the shape of Philadelphia's government, you should consider running for City Committeeperson. This is the most powerful way to have your voice heard, and to advocate for your neighbors and your community.
If you’ve never heard of a committeeperson before, you’re not alone. But this position has a huge impact. Committeepeople are the local Party's representatives in your neighborhood, and being a committeeperson is a lot like being a political block captain for your part of the neighborhood. It's one of the simplest and most powerful ways to have your voice heard, and to advocate for your neighbors and your community.
In our free training, we’ll break down Philly's ward system, walk you through what a committeeperson does, how they influence local government, and how you can win one of these elections in your neighborhood.
As nominating petitions for this position are open between February 13th and March 6th, we'll have petitions on-site for you that you can take home and begin collecting signatures right away.
